Kate Whiteneck, DO, is a doctor specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Whiteneck cares for people who have experienced a stroke or have an injury to the brain or spinal cord. She does that by listening closely to her patients.
“My role is to understand each patient’s unique goals and collaborate with them to reach those through thoughtful care,” she shares.
Dr. Whiteneck completed her medical training at Providence St. Luke’s Medical Rehabilitation Center in Spokane, WA. She rose to chief resident doctor there for the physical medicine team. She also became interested in helping patients regain normal toileting habits after serious injuries or illnesses. In 2024, Dr. Whiteneck co-authored a study on bladder dysfunction.
Dr. Whiteneck grew up participating in jazz and marching bands and still enjoys music today. In her free time, she likes to hike, cycle and cheer on the Portland Timbers soccer team.
