PeaceHealth Reference Lab

The PeaceHealth Reference Lab operates 16 blood draw sites inside Washington and Oregon clinics.

Tests are sent to the lab at the Riverbend Annex at 123 International Way, Springfield, Oregon. Patients cannot have blood drawn at the Reference Lab location.

At full capacity, the lab can process more than 1.2 million patient tests each year, with most results available in the electronic medical record within 24 hours.

UPDATE AS OF 7/2/26: In May 2026, PeaceHealth assumed several laboratory operations in Washington and Oregon previously owned by Quest Diagnostics. The following FAQ provides more information on what patients can expect as a result of this change:

What is changing with PeaceHealth lab services?
As of May 2026, PeaceHealth is making updates to how many outpatient lab services are managed in Oregon and Washington. PeaceHealth now manages the in-office blood draw stations located inside many PeaceHealth clinics that were previously managed by Quest Diagnostics. This change is intended to make lab services more connected to your PeaceHealth care team and improve reliability, consistency and support for patients over time.

Where can I go to have my labs drawn?
You can have labs drawn at many PeaceHealth clinic locations and Patient Service Centers. The right location may depend on the type of test ordered and whether your order was placed by a PeaceHealth physician or clinician. Some clinic-based draw locations can only serve patients who receive care at that clinic or whose lab orders were placed by a PeaceHealth physician or clinician. If your lab order was placed by a physician or clinician outside PeaceHealth, you may need to bring a written lab order with you. If you are unsure where to go, please contact your clinic or care team before your visit. Please see the table below to determine the right lab location right for you:

Do I need an appointment, and what should I bring?
Many lab draws do not require an appointment, though availability may vary by location and by the type of test ordered. Please bring your photo ID and insurance card. If your lab order was placed by a non-PeaceHealth physician or clinician, please bring a written lab order with you. This helps make sure the lab has the information needed to complete your test and send results back to your physician or clinician.

Will my existing lab order still work?
Many existing lab orders are being transitioned as part of this change. If your care team needs anything more from you, they will contact you. If you are unsure whether your order is ready or where you should go, please contact your clinic before coming in for your lab draw.

I received a call that my lab tests were canceled. What happened, and why do I need to come back for another lab draw?
Sometimes a lab test needs to be repeated. This can happen if a specimen could not be processed, there was an issue with collection or transportation of the sample, or could not be completed for another reason. We understand that returning for another lab draw can be frustrating. If your test needs to be repeated, the PeaceHealth lab team will contact you directly, explain what happened and help you understand where to go next. Your ordering physician or clinician will also be notified.

How will I receive my lab results?
Your lab results will be available through My PeaceHealth, the PeaceHealth patient portal. Your care team will also review results as part of your care. Some results may appear differently because more testing is being performed by PeaceHealth. Reference ranges, critical values and historical trending are being aligned for consistency across PeaceHealth. Many lab results are available within 24 hours, though some tests take longer depending on the type of test and where it must be processed. If you have questions about what your results mean, please contact your physician or clinician’s office.

Why might I receive more than one bill?
Most outpatient lab tests performed by PeaceHealth will be billed by PeaceHealth. Some tests may still be performed by Quest or another outside laboratory, depending on the type of test ordered. If that happens, you may receive more than one bill. If you have questions about a bill, please contact the billing office listed on your statement.

Are all lab services changing?
No. PeaceHealth performs many outpatient lab tests, but some tests may still be performed by Quest or another outside laboratory. Inpatient (when you have a hospital stay) lab testing continues to be through Quest. The current changes apply to many outpatient lab services in Oregon and Washington. If you have questions about your lab order, where to go, or what your results mean, please contact your PeaceHealth clinic or care team.
